College Students

So, you are heading off to college. Congratulations!

At this point in your life, it is important to talk about general health issues. Don’t forget, you can go to the college health center with any medical concerns! As a college student, you may become run down, might not eat as you did when at home, and might have a hectic lifestyle that leaves you more susceptible to illness.

Ensure you are protected and talk to your doctor about vaccines that are important for college students. Why more vaccines? College means you will have many new experiences, meet new people, and you may even travel to new places. Some students will be from other parts of the world where vaccine-preventable diseases are more common.

College students should talk to their doctor about these vaccines:

  • Meningococcal Vaccine – both for ACYW and B vaccines
  • Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis Vaccine (Tdap)
  • Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (HPV)
  • Hepatitis A
