ABOUT BIG SHOTS AWARDS

What is a Big Shots Award?

The Arizona Big Shots Awards recognize organizations and individuals who have distinguished themselves by improving the health and wellness of Arizona’s communities and the lives of Arizona children through increasing immunization rates.

Who can be nominated?

Nominees can be a person or organization who have distinguished themselves by improving the health and wellness of Arizona’s communities and the lives of Arizona children through increasing immunization rates.

Winner Criteria

Award winners are selected based on their demonstrated exceptional efforts, tireless work, and innovative strategies that have improved immunization coverage levels statewide.

BIG SHOTS OF ARIZONA AWARD CATEGORIES

(NOTE: You do NOT need to choose a category when you nominate. If your nominee is chosen as a winner, the TAPI selection committee will select the category.)

Spot Shot Award

Recognizes media stories that helped educate and/or reduce barriers to immunizations

Up Shot Award

Recognizes innovative programs to the immunization effort that has demonstrated commitment to improving the health of Arizonans

Long Shot Award

Recognizes someone responsible for legislation, regulations or public policy initiatives that have helped to reduce barriers to immunization

Top Shot Award

Recognizes employers who have created work environments that support and encourage healthy lifestyles including full coverage for life saving vaccines

Buck Shot Award

Recognizes exceptional events that have helped educate, promote, and provide immunizations to Arizonans

Hot Shot Award

Recognizes a person or organization that has gone ‘above and beyond’ the call of duty to give tremendous amounts of time and effort to increase immunization coverage levels

Hot Shot Andie Denious Award

Recognizes Arizonans who truly go above and beyond in immunizations – like Andie did

Hot Shot Innovation Award

In honor of Carole Joyce, a nurse from Mountain Park Health Center. Carole understood the benefits of the registry and data to keep kids on track and described herself as, “a nurse with a syringe in one hand and a mouse in the other.”
